Girls cooking in Zul's kitchen
Standby, roll camera and.... action!

Scene: Girls cooking in Zul's kitchen

Take one:
Try to spread egg with chilli and onions mix onto bread and roll minced meat over it.
Cut!!!
Too slow! Somebody please take over coz the oil's hot already!

Take two:
Second attempt at spreading egg mix onto bread.
It was a success but she was too afraid to toss the bread into the frying pan. Kept screaming saying that the hot oil splattered all over.
Cut!!!
Small fire also scared is it?! Somebody please come to the rescue and put the bread in the frying pan for her!

Take three:
Final attempt to toss the bread into the frying pan failed again.
Somebody please get her a chef husband or something coz the moment she's mastered the simple skill of tossing the bread into the frying pan, the director would have run out of tapes!

Thanks to Netty's help, the above program was shot within the stipulated time.
Otherwise, everyone would be eating burnt roti john cheese. Tsk. Tsk.

And who would have guessed that there was a chef in a girl whom I thought was another kitchen plus cook klutz. She whipped out a whole spread for us -- nasi goreng, ayam sweet & sour and chicken soup for dinner followed by mee hoon tom yam for lunch the next day! And you must also try her teh tarik man! Not as good as the mamak's teh lah but still it's good enough for me.

Not forgetting new recipes learnt... murtabak maggie and some fruit cocktail mix which I have no idea what it was called.

A wonderful afternoon spent in the kitchen but please do not organise such cooking session anymore. I beg you please. All this is too stressful for me!

Yours sincerely,
the kitchen plus cook klutz
(oopps! I just let the cat out of the bloody bag!)

p.s/Erin, please know that you are not alone... ; )

When friends meet, hearts warm.
23/1/06
Met up with my SIM kakis at our old hangout. So used to that place that we did not even refer to the menu while ordering and my dear Ms Steph Soh simply ordered noodles much to the confusion of the mamak who's taking her order. Tsk... tsk... terrible lah you Steph Soh! Lucky for you I was there to help you with the ordering. What noodle you want huh? Next time must specify okay.

Erin has lost so much weight that she almost looked like me. Almost. Erin, you know me so well to lend me the vcd. It was such a surprise so thank you my dear. I will return it once I'm done.

After that I had to rush to visit Fini who met with an accident. One lesson to learn from her tragic experience... NEVER jaywalk again!

25/1/06
Watched Memoirs of a geisha with my colleagues. There's only 5 of us but it was enough chaos! Great love story. Irna, go watch with eerrm you know who lah eh... hehehe!

26/1/06
Accompanied Yatie Wahab to visit Fini. The first time I saw Fini, she was lying helplessly on her bed but now she's able to move around in her wheelchair. Poor girl. She looked so helpless.

And I had a good catching up session with Yatie. And yes babe, we've talked and I think you should go for it if the offer comes.

27/1/06
Celebrated Irna's birthday.

28/1/06
Sleepover!!! My only worry... how to get out of the cooking bit?! Let me dream of a plan tonight.

"Harsh words break no bones but they do break hearts..."
My dear chairman, maybe we should all start to be more sensitive towards each other's needs and feelings. Like what have been mentioned, maybe you only see things in your perspectives but not others'.

Happy 24th Birthday Fins!
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
One Happy Family

A call on her cellphone only to know that she's at Science Centre.
Who the hell celebrates his or her birthday at the Science Centre?!
Scared her to hell with spooky tales... her mind went wild and she started to scare herself.
Asked her what time she'll be back and I believed Zul's tactic worked.... she's leaving in 10 minutes' time.
Conversation ended and we decided to make our way to her place.
Reached unit no #04-442 and we banged and knocked hard to no answer.
Wondered if she's home yet and Zul started to call her.
She locked herself in the room (obviously scared coz all alone at home) and thus not able to hear us knocking at the door.
She opened the door to be greeted with our version of the Christmas Carol.
She was obviously shocked and surprised.
We gave her a rose bouquet together with the paintings and frame.
She loved it but I guessed she loved the surprise more.
And she's gonna hang the paintings in her living room.

To Fins AKA Affinity,
HAPPY 24TH BIRTHDAY BABE!
We hoped you loved the surprise that we gave you.

Youth event -- Our Kodak Moments

This was what we did to usher in the new year -- hiking in the rain!

Kumayl was supposed to snap our picture but he decided to take a shot of himself first.

At the tree top bridge with our bodyguard at the back.

Even though it was raining throughout, we bumped into many other hikers including small
ang-moh kids as young as about 5 years of age threading their way through the slippery ground, maids included.

The hike was not as bad as I thought. However it left me with small cuts on both my feet and a sandal sole that was half torn. I had to throw my 4 or was it 5 years old sports sandals and I planned to buy a new one at the end of this month.

Luck was really not on my side when my brown glittery sandals also got torn while at work. I used it almost everyday now that I didn't realise that it was coming off until I saw myself walking with one bare feet. Yes please call that Selenge! Heheheh!

Whenever I get comfortable and cosy to something, things will start to happen and I will be forced to make a decision in the quickest time possible and given a choice to either move out or move on.

Zulina and Netty have witnessed the chaotic Warna Ramadan days when I had to make a decision soon -- to stay or move on to bigger things. I pondered long and hard during filming, while I was typing away my scripts, while editing with Zaly or even while looking at Zul slogged with the scheduling. I pity her man. Really. But there was only so much that I could do to help.

At the back of my mind there was this fear that I may not be able to adjust or cope with the new work regime. I tried to take the easy route by telling my EPs that I will not leave if they do not allow me to. But I was wrong. They were not prepared to decide my fate for me and once again I was in a dilemma.

The vicious cycle just repeated itself a few days ago and I just informed big boss man about it. He was happy for me. Thank you boss.

It is going to be a different ball game soon and I loved the way big boss man put it. And yes now I am game for it even though it meant another change to something that I have grown accustomed to.

To my poet/scientist/uncle friend who smsed me in the wee hours of the morning, thank you for your concern. I am okay so don't worry. But I cannot help but to laugh when I read your sms. Just this line... "What telah happen" and it was enough to send me into a laughing frenzy.

The Begger's Story
It started with a heavy rain and despite having my umbrella with me, I was left half-drenched while waiting for a cab. There was insufficient cash in my wallet and I had to ask big boss man for some cash to pay my cab fare. I went to run my errands and the next thing I realised, the youth event had started.

It ended with a rainy day yet again except that this time I had to rush back to work to see to something that happened unexpectedly and to expect a PR nightmare. Yes this was the biggest work challenge thus far. And it had to happen immediately after the bowling tournament so while everyone's nicely seated waiting to hear who was the winning team and the best bowler, I was busy on the phone panicking and trying to calm myself down with explanations after explanations on what the viewers should have actually watched on TV. I broke down in the cab and tried my best to calm down coz if this was my fault, I could kiss my job goodbye. Big boss man heard about my ordeal from his wife and it was nice of him to ask how was I doing. But obviously I was not doing good.

Like I said, it ended with a rainy day except that this time I was not alone. I was with Hazlin and he gave me a lift to the nearest mrt station and that saved me from getting drenched yet again.
